Prince Shakur

PRINCE SHAKUR is a multi-medium artist, educator, and organizer committed to exploring queer Black histories and radical narratives through storytelling. Since 2014, he has combined grassroots organizing with cultural journalism, contributing to Teen Vogue and Commune Magazine while advocating within movements like Black Lives Matter. In 2018, he received the GLAAD Rising Star Grant for his POC-focused travel series, Two Woke Minds, and published his memoir, When They Tell You To Be Good, with Tin House Books in 2022. Prince mentors emerging writers to challenge conventional Black histories through multimedia projects, share writing resources online, and address political issues on his podcast, THE DUGOUT. His forthcoming book projects promise to further innovate at the intersection of art and activism.
