Balrog reviewed The Dryad Storm by Laurie Forest (The Black Witch Chronicles, #5)
Tedious
2 stars
The first book was refreshingly current with fascism on the rise all over the world. The protagonist made a change from indoctrinated young adult to rebel. However, what could've been written in max 3 books is now in the fifth volume and I'm dragging myself through slower and slower and have read and finished about seven books while still not being done with the Dryad Storm. It's always the bad guy that is winning more and more and I have no idea how they are going to finish him off after all. And all the emotions are over the top, nobody can be levelheaded. It's very tiring to read.
