The Broken Earth Trilogy: The Fifth Season, The Obelisk Gate, The Stone Sky

This series took me to places I didn't know I needed or wanted to go. I feel like I just processed so much, and I understand a lot more about people and the world.

Daaaaaang.

Now I will just wait very patiently for book 3. Because patience is absolutely one of my virtues.

Loved this book. So well done--great world-building, great character development, good bit of twist (at least I think it was supposed to feel like a twist). It does a great job wrestling with the morality of power.

I won't claim it left me feeling happy--kind of the opposite--but it is beautiful nonetheless.

I will absolutely read the rest of the trilogy.
