MLA handbook for writers of research papers

This book describes a set of conventions governing the written presentation of research. The recommendations on the mechanics and format of the research paper reflect the practices recommended by the MLA and reqired by college teachers throughout the United States and Canada. Questions of writing style--choice of words, sentence structure, tone, and so on-- are covered in other guides, such as those listed in section 1.9 and are not considered here.
