I have been following Kristy Robinett on her Facebook page for quite a while and I enjoy her down to earth commentary as she deals with new age topics such as psychic readings, mediumship. I have always been interested in stories of life after death so I got her latest book, "It's a Wonderful Afterlife" to see what new stories she would have. I have read her books "Messenger Between Worlds" and “Forevermore: Guided in Spirit by Edgar Allan Poe” and I enjoyed her clear writing style. She tells the stories of people who have lost loved ones and how her abilities help them find comfort as they mourn.
The first part of the book was a repeat of information from her other books and her web page so it was a slow start. The focus of the book is on the signs that we receive from our loved ones …
The focus of the book is on the signs that we receive from our loved ones after they have passed to the other side. In addition, the stories included messages from those who have passed about the importance of being the best person we can be while still alive. The stories struck a chord with me and brought up memories of some of my struggles and how I continue to work to improve myself and help others around me.
The various signs were interesting, such as finding coins, seeing certain animals, finding feathers and other methods of communication from those who have passed. I must admit to skepticism on some signs, such as calls on cell phones or dimes ‘appearing from nowhere’. However, I have myself received signs that I feel are from my loved ones who have passed that others might doubt, so it is hard for me to judge what comforts other people about their losses.
For people who have lost loved ones to death, this book can provide some comfort with the idea that their loved ones are still there with them and working to communicate with them. For skeptics, I suspect they will doubt the stories and mark them up to coincidences but for those who aren’t sure, the book provides stories that can provide information on whether there is life after death. I found it a good read and the messages did touch me and move me. Because of the repeat of information and a couple of typos, I am marking the book as a 4, but it is a good read for those who have an open mind aobut life after death.
I had seen the ads for the trailer for the movie and read a recommendation so when I saw this book at Costco, I picked it up. Wow! An awesome book, a lot of good tension as the hero, Mark Whatney figures out how to survive on Mars for 4 years until he can hitch a ride back to Earth. It reminded me of science fiction books I enjoyed when I was younger and I enjoyed the flashback to my youth immensely.
The book did seem a little slow by the end, I'm glad the author stayed accurate with the science portion but I was ready to find out if Mark made it back alive or not. However, that didn't detract from the excitement and I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants a good story and to get excited about going to space again.
