Mystery aspect was interesting, but the main character was a little chiché'ed. I liked the side-story of her immaturity affecting her job and personal life, but it felt like it went overboard a few times.

Pretty fun story about finding one's past. Even though I figured out the main reveals many pages before they happened, the story of how things happened kept me engaged. Some of the social commentary reflects a French author's view of the US more than anything. Aside from that suspension of disbelief, the story was fun.

Pretty expansive set of books that touches on a bunch of themes rather well. My only complaint is the ending. It's too tidy, and relies on a sort of deus ex machina (diati).

Really 3.5 stars. Solid book with a solid story. Not sure if it's enough to get me into the series.
