Crazy Adventure!

If there is one single thing I will say about this series is this: full of lessons or reminders.

The series was well researched and is full of subtle revelations about the real world most people dismiss as fantasy and conspiracies. It's there which I'm sure will grow in all of us in time.

The Story Finally Told!

We first encountered about this mysterious adventure when Jie was sent to the mission and disappeared from the narrative in the original novels. She later reappeared, never talked of it, and then when she met her new friends again, she shared an understanding and closeness with them that no one understood in the original novels.

This was that adventure.

An adventure that is memorable and which explains that special camaraderie this group showed in the original novels in this universe. Wow.

Other than that, as usual, JC Kang showed his amazing eye for details and excellent skills in weaving together more than 8 stories into one big maze and slowly unravel it as clear as a web. The interconnections, the questions, the twists and turns, the intrigues, will keep you guessing and glued in this world.

Well done once again! Superb! Highly recommended! Congratulations!

Wild!

This one is wild. I've never read challenging, parallel world, first-person story concentrating purely on personal issues of a character and his familiar and not familiar world. Most parallel world stories of a similar but not nature is more about the scifi or some other mysterious protagonist. In this book, it's about a real struggle, not just of being in a different world and the only one who truly understands (or not) what's going on, but his emotions, sins, and desire to be forgiven and be returned to his real family, and to say "no" to the wild adventure he was plunged into.

Intriguing

The first few chapters weren't captivating. Personally, it has to do with the flow or arrangement of the story. One chapter, we re talking about the present-past, in the next chapter, it's a very lengthy, multiple chapters, past-past before it caught up to present-past.

There were also a very confusing switching between first-person, third-person limited, and third-person god. The sub-sections barely worked because of it.

However, I'm giving 4 out of 5 because of the story itself. The plot. The repercussions considered of what happened which is not tackled in any other similar story in this genre, or rarely touched. It is refreshing and it stays within the realms of possibility and reality as much as possible.

Intriguing

A different take on the same plot while sticking as close as possible to reality and possibility. Taking on factors usually ignored in other stories of the same device.

The circle closes

In this third novel in The Girl in the Box series, we'll come to see the circle closes as our protagonist find her answers to her questions most of which she was afraid to ask and face. Only to have even more questions raised s a precursor to the next set of novels.

A great introduction

A new world deserves a great introduction and in this first book in a new series, we were presented with a world much like our own but with stuff of myths and legends alive.
