Well written and better paced than the prior book in the series. What is disturbing in the scenario is the general level of dependency and coercion. The aliens in this story hate imposing their will through violence but consistently leave no room for humans' free will. The physical violence in the story is almost exclusively coming from humans, including forced incest but the aliens' actions are just as unnerving.
