I actually quite liked this one. It loses half a star for packing too many events in too short a book. Stuff happens and gets resolved comically fast because of that. If it were longer, there'd be enough time to really flesh out everything. It loses another half a star for making the romantic interest ANOTHER RICH GUY! Whyyyy do we keep doing this?? Rich guys are antagonists only! Bad, no good!
There are other things to complain about, like the corporatism in general, the nepotism, the power imbalance, etc. But for once I found I could tolerate those with at most an eye roll and tsk tsk. From a representation standpoint, transhet romance is SLIM PICKINGS, and the bar is low... but overall I'd say this does a pretty good job! Honestly that's what got it the 4 stars, really might deserve less otherwise.
