I found this book through the Facebook page of Colby Sharp. I immediately ordered it and read it to my class. They loved it! I love it! It is a Caldecott Honor book, a Kirkus reviewed Best Book of 2025, and a Librarian's Favorite Award of 2026. The book follows the friendship between a stalactite and stalagmite through millions of years of water dripping between them. The illustrations are beautiful and show what is happening in the world surrounding the cave where the two friends reside. The book is both funny and informative, and explains the extreme time lapse from before dinosaurs were on the earth to well into the future when the stalactite and stalagmite eventually join together to form something new. This book would be a great resource in classrooms ranging from 1st to 5th grades and is perfect for lessons on science vocabulary, cause and effect, and …
