I really enjoy sci-fi, philosophy, and books about “life.” Lately I’ve gotten more into traditional woodworking and pre-industrial era living.

I have more books than I can read, but I’m always looking for recommendations. :-J

Joshua Klein: Worked (Paperback, 2022, Mortise & Tenon Magazine) No rating

The podcasts and videos from Joshua and Mike have been amazing new perspectives on traditional woodworking and the philosophy we can bring forward from historical practices. This book seems to be a great intro to the world of hand tool woodworking and provides a straightforward look at how to start. The fantastic photos really aid in understanding the descriptions of practices.

Physics descriptive sci fi thriller

5 stars

I really enjoy Andy Weir’s writing especially because he brings his experience with astrophysics to his story telling, so essentially everything that happens in the book is how it works likely physically occur in real life. Some people may not enjoy the amount of description of physics throughout the book, but for me, it enhances the story.

This book is the most “thriller-y” out of the books I’ve read from the author. It did a good job of hooking me on and wanting me to discover more about the past of the protagonist. The map in the book aided in envisioning how the story unfolds.
