Review of 'Tending roses' on 'Goodreads'

3 stars

A good read, a bit sentimental with the emphasis on the old ways of raising a family in the country. The main character, Kate, and her husband visit Kate's grandmother. The family is worried about grandma Rose after a fire in the house so Kate arrives a few weeks before Christmas to keep an eye and make sure Rose doesn't accidentally hurt herself. Kate and her husband Ben plan to only stay for a few weeks before returning to their busy life in Chicago but fate has other plans. Through a series of notes from grandma Rose and a break from a hectic life style, Kate gradually looks at staying on the family farm instead of return to Chicago. A good read about the importance of family and relationships that help people to make it through tough times in life.
