Different β¦ curious
It was a post-apocalyptic Earth but the apocalypse wasn't what the world expected it to be. In book 1, it was good that the bigger arc was placed in the background, as it would have distracted from the story of the main character.
The story also started slow, the build up of the characters were slow. But as this is a series if novels, it is understandable as this is an introduction to this new Earth.

This book is better read last. Finish the main-line of novels first before going through these second-line of novels. Otherwise you'll be in one heck of major spoilers!
