Mac is stunned to discover that her sister's murder had been far more than a random act of violence and resents the awakening of a mysterious ability to sense the Fae and their talismans, a talent that sends her on a quest to find the Sinsar Dubh, a mystical book of dark power, and to insure that it cannot fall into the wrong hands.

Review of 'Darkfever' on 'Goodreads'

This is technically my second time reading this series, and I'll tell you...this time around was as good as the last; Love Mac, because though at the beginning, she looks like all she cares about is her southern life, you can see it prior to the end of the novel (and this is only the first one, so you can imagine how much more she will mature by the end of the entire series) that she's growing up, and finally realizing and being able to accept the more "adult" turn her life has taken.
